Takanawa Gateway City - The LINKPILLAR 1 (Construction Story)

Bringing personal accounts by clients, architects, engineers, and contractors who created the Linkpillar 1, this video offers an important collaborative design process amongst all the participants. The idea of “Link” resonated how each participant thought about their role and impact within the creation of the overall building.

What is the linkpillar? 

The Linkpillar 1 is two central 30-story, mixed-use towers of the Phase 1 of the Takanawa Gateway City multi-phase development. The Linkpillar 1 sits atop a 7-story podium offering direct connectivity to Takanawa Gateway Station.

What is Takanawa Gateway City? 

Takanawa Gateway City represents the sustainable transit-oriented redevelopment of a railyard near Shinagawa Station to deliver a vibrant and unparalleled public realm. Its Shintokaido, the elevated main pedestrian pathway, links six independent blocks to create a new pedestrian-focused city.

What is Pickard Chilton's role? 

Pickard Chilton master planned Takanawa Gateway City and was the Design Architect for the Linkpillar 1.
